Sunday Thoughts~January 6, 2019

Good morning, dear friends.  Thank you so much for visiting and may these ‘Sunday Thoughts’ touch your heart.

The Work of Christmas

Written by, Howard Thurman in 1985

“When the song of the angels is stilled,
When the star in the sky is gone,
When the kings and the princes are home,
When the shepherds are back with their flock,
The work of Christmas begins:
To find the lost,
To heal the broken,
To feed the hungry,
To release the prisoner,
To rebuild the nations,
To bring peace among brothers,
To make music in the heart.”

These profound words were also set to music, by Dan Forrest in 2014.  To listen, visit here.

Wishing you and yours a beautiful day.

And…

May you have heaven in your heart, starlight in your soul, and angels all around you.” ~ Unknown

Au Revoir,

Sandra

Notes:  The “Work of Christmas” is sung by the Capital University A Cappella Choir ~ Columbus, Ohio.

    1. Thank you, Lorrie. You, my friend, are so correct ~ “Christmas is only the beginning.” What a difference we will make in our world if we keep it in our heats throughout the year.
Wishing you and yours a beautiful day and week ahead.

  1. The work of Christmas begins when the shepherds are back with their flock! That excites me because the author of an old day book that I just bought recently has talked about the very same thing. The shepherds went back to their work just as we do ours but that’s okay because God reaches us “amid our circumstances.”

    The music is just lovely!

    1. I am happy you enjoyed the post, Dewena. I loved it too and felt as you do.
      Have a lovely week.

  2. Dearest Sandra, what a beautiful poem and image! You always share the most amazing thoughts and quotes. Thank you for bringing loveliness and quiet into my day!
