I Lost July!

Good Sunday morning, dear friends.  I hope this finds you well and enjoying summer.  Time moved along and I lost July.

I know you must be wondering, “Where has she been?”  Honestly, I wish I could tell you that Mike and I  have been living life on top of the world in Southern France. However, that is not the case.  You see, I was admitted to the hospital on July 11, 2022, and released on July 20, 2022.  I can assure you I was not on top of the world.  In fact, this is the first day I have turned on the computer.

You may or may not remember that around the end of June, I thought I had a bug of sorts, but it left as they do.  Our 50th anniversary was July 1 and stubborn as I am, I was determined not to miss that day.  Things went downhill after that day.  On July,11  Mike took me to the ER and of course, they admitted me.  After the blood work was reviewed it was determined that I was almost in kidney failure.  So, on Tuesday, July 12 I had surgery and had 2 stints placed in my kidney.  Everything was uphill after that.  All I can say is it has been a wild month and I had no idea I was so sick.

I don’t even want to imagine what I would do or would have done without my dear husband.  He has taken meticulous care of our garden and home, he came to the hospital every day, talked to doctors, and turned our dining room into a hospital room and at least a gazillion other things.  No human could have done more.

“I am so thankful for friendship.  It beautifies life so much.” ~ Lucy Maud Montgomery

In closing,  the word “grateful” has taken on new meaning to me.  It appears  God wants me to remain on this earth for a reason.  And before I close, I want to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for your good wishes.  I have briefly skimmed Facebook and I know many of you commented on my page.  Another big lesson I have learned is, that friends can be virtual but still hold you in the palm of their hand.

Dear friends, wishing you and yours a beautiful day. Be well, enjoy these summer days, and know. . .

Tu m’as manqué! (Ihave missed you.)

Amour,
Sandra

Sandra, I have been so concerned about you and even contacted Mike on his Facebook. It did my heart so good to see your post this morning. You have been a sick lady, my friend. I am so glad they were able to do your surgery and that you are improving. Please take care of yourself and hopefully each day will be an improvement. There is a definite connection of blogging friendship that goes well beyond virtual friends. I am praying for you dear one. Sending love and hugs and a special thank you to Mike for the wonderful care… Read more »

Good morning, dear Pam. I believe I am slowly coming around. Ten days in the hospital can take all your strength. I thank you so much for your concern and well wishes. They and you mean more than you can ever imagine. I hope all is well in your world. I also hope you are enjoying these end-of-summer days. Many blessings to you and yours.

Sandra I had no idea this had happened to you. What a scary situation you were in! So happy to read that the kidney issue was remedied and you are at home recovering. Glad to know there are husbands out there who are willing to step up and fill in as necessary. You indeed married a gem. Prayers for continued healing on your road to a complete recovery.

Dear Barbara, thank you so much for your kind words. Yes, my situation was scary, but it all happened so quickly. I have never in my life been so happy to see our sweet home. I truly did marry a gem. Mike has such a big heart and is good to his core. Indeed, I am very fortunate on many levels. Again, thank you for you kind words and taking the time to comment. Blessings to you and yours.

I just now saw this and read it. I am so sorry you have been I’ll. I am so grateful you are getting better! Also, I’m grateful you have Mike as your partner in care. Geez. I’ve missed your flowers and kind words too and assumed you were on vacation. Thanks for the update. Thanks for getting better. I’m sending you hugs.

Dear Beckie, I so appreciate and thank you for your concern and lovely words. I am on the mend but it is a slow process. It is my energy level that is in the tank. Thanks again, and your hugs have magical powers.

I have subscribed to receive your posts by email as I quit blogging some years ago. We both celebrated our 50th anniversary the same day and I send congratulations for also achieving this milestone. It’s important to advocate for our own heath post Covid and I’m glad you received attention in time. Prayers for healing and blessings to your wonderful husband for his support.
With appreciation for your Sunday musings from Ontario, Canada.

Sandra, Pat and I were unaware until just the other day that you were ill. We are so relieved that you’re on the mend and will continue to pray for your recovery. As one of my first friends in this part of the world, you are very dear to us.

Sandra, I had no idea you were so sick, and that’s a very serious thing you went through. Is your kidney function still compromised (in other words, will it be chronic?). I sure hope not.Thank God for Mike. I hope you continue doing better. We had so much rain this July here in Charleston, it’s been twice our average rainfall with over 10″! I’m sure Mike’s been spending a lot of time in the garden of weedin’!

Sandra, I have been so worried about you. Mike reassured me a little by saying that you were getting better and he thought you might soon be back on Facebook. My nurse heart says I am thankful that he took you to the ER and that you got the help you needed. My forever friends live a distance away from us, and, as you say, virtual friends provide me much joy on a daily basis. Hugs from across the miles, my friend.

Dearest Sandra,
So thankful you have turned that scary corner, and you are on your way back to a full recovery. Mike kept everything running so smoothly, and I know that brought you such peace and comfort, knowing all was in his capable hands. Surely hope you felt the healing hugs and positive prayers. You are cherished, loved, and adored.❤️❤️

Sandra, missing your updates, I wondered what happened. Wishing it was the holiday and not sickness that was the reason. Get well soon. Our world needs inspirational people like you to be strong and healthy!

Sandra, I have been praying and praying for you because I knew something had to be wrong that you had missed your Sunday post for three weeks. You were missed very much. It did not seem right without your beautiful posts.
I am sorry you were so ill but very glad you are better now.
I did hope you were in your beloved France somewhere celebrating your anniversary.
Sounds like your husband did a great job caring for you, your doctors, and the hospital.
Take it slowly and gain your strength.
Wishing you a beautiful week ahead.

Please take care of yourself, and get plenty of rest. You have been through a lot. My dear friend, know that I am thinking of you and praying you feel much better soon.

Sandra, I am absolutely shocked about this. Since FB has gone all scrolling after the first probably 20 posts on my computer, I miss most everyone’s posts and had no idea. I’m very grateful they could diagnose this quickly in the hospital and get the surgery done and all the more so that your recovery seems to be going well. I hope every day is better and better. Please do all they say, and take good care. We miss you! (And thank you to Mike!)
